Ryan Wolfe
(Jonathan Togo) always seemed at home in a laboratory. From his university days, Ryan focused on genetics but soon realized that to make a life for himself, he’d have to stretch ... as a scientist and as a man. Nothing could seem, at first glance, more challenging than moving from the secluded comfort of a scientific lab to police academy. Ryan has proven that his intelligence and his integrity were personal traits that set him apart from many of his classmates in law enforcement training. Working with CSI, he can use his scientific skills but still feel the adrenaline rush of being a cop.

Detective Frank Tripp
(Rex Linn) always thought he’d become a fireman until he became an avid fan of pulp detective novels. Before he knew it, Tripp was dreaming of chasing down bad guys and cleaning up mob gangs and his plans to fight fires were extinguished. Street smart and tough, he paid his dues as a cop fighting street gangs. Sadly, Tripp took the dark side of the police force home with him and detoured into a steady decline into alcoholism which ruined what had been a pretty good marriage. A transfer to homicide has helped Frank Tripp regain his sense of duty but he is always a hair’s edge from falling into the seductive trap of darkness that’s not so dissimilar from the crime novels he relished as a young man.

Natalia Boa Vista (Eva La Rue) added a touch of mystery to the CSI team. Uncovered as a plant inside CSI by the Feds, Natalia was quickly shunned and mistrusted by her peers in the crime lab. Although she has refused to be an informant any longer, Horatio's team has kept an eye out on this hot blooded Latina. There’s certainly more than meets the eye with the beautiful Natalia. With her undercover status blown away, she now has to struggle to regain trust and build solid relationships but she still keeps many facets of her life hidden from scrutiny.
