On September 9, 2006, celebrity model Anna Nicole Smith gave birth at Doctors' Hospital in the Bahamas to a beautiful baby daughter whom she named Dannielynn Hope Marshall Stern. The sexy Anna Nicole, known more for simply being famous than anything else, had moved to the Bahamas to avoid paternity claims being made by her former boyfriend, photographer Larry Birkhead. Anna Nicole reportedly wanted to keep Birkhead from pursuing legal actions which would name him as the father of her baby daughter.
In fact, later paternity tests would prove that Larry Birkhead was indeed the biological father of Dannielynn. Anna Nicole had tried to concoct a story that her baby was fathered by another man, Howard K. Stern. Stern was considered by many of Anna Nicole’s friends and family members to be a ‘hanger-on’. A man who made his living by running errands for a celebrity and taking care of a few minor legal issues. While he seemed to have gained Anna Nicole's trust, Stern had been accused of wanting unlimited access to Anna and also of trying to isolate her from many of her acquaintances and family.
While in the Nassau hospital recovering from the birth of her baby daughter three days earlier, Anna Nicole was visited by her 20-year old son, Daniel Smith. Daniel was the son of Anna's first husband, Billy Smith, her high school boyfriend. Daniel had traveled to the Bahamas to be with his mother and bond with his new half-sister.
