How low could she go?
While lawyers on both sides did battle, Anna Nicole’s curvy figure ballooned toward obesity. Slurring and stumbling through interviews and down red carpet runways, Anna’s life seemed to be slip-sliding on a self-destructive downward spiral. In 2002, Anna quickly became a parody of her self on a cultish expose-turned-reality series, The Anna Nicole Show, on the E! cable network. Losing 69 pounds, Anna became a spokesperson for the TrimSpa company but while she was shedding pounds, she didn’t appear to be gaining stability in her personal life. While she’d done a stint in 1995 at the Betty Ford Center, it was clear by Anna’s slurred speech and outlandish behavior at the 2004 American Music Awards that she had fallen off the rehab bandwagon.

Who’s your Daddy? It’s anybody’s guess!
In June of 2006, Anna announced that she was pregnant. Rumors swirled about who was the father ... her ex-boyfriend, entertainment photographer Larry Birkhead or her gofer guy and sometime lawyer, Howard K. Stern? Stern implied that he and Anna had been in a ‘secret’ relationship for a very long time but close friends and associates scoffed at the idea that Anna would have ever had an intimate relationship with Stern. On September 7, 2006, Anna gave birth to her daughter, Daniellynn Hope Marshall Stern. However unlikely, Stern was named the infant’s father on the birth certificate at Doctor’s Hospital in Nassau, Bahamas. While Howard Stern's name was on the birth certificate, several men stepped forward to claim that they were the father of Anna's baby. Vegas' odds were on Larry Birkhead, an ex-boyfriend who quickly began legal action to force a DNA test.

Life & Death in the Bahamas
Three days after Anna delivered her daughter, her 20-year old son Daniel visited his mother in the maternity ward in the Bahamas. What happened that night is anybody's guess. Daniel fell asleep sometime during the evening in a chair in Anna’s hospital room. Within hours he was found unresponsive and soon died of what proved to be a lethal prescription drug cocktail of antidepressants Zoloft and Lexapro plus methadone which can cause cardiac disrhythmia. Anna's grief at the sudden and mysterious death of her son was so intense that she couldn't bring herself to attend his memorial service in New Providence, Bahamas.
