A gifted scriptwriter, Blake Edwards was the creative genius behind the Richard Diamond, Private Detective television series. Although he could write strong, hard-boiled detective scripts, Edward’s sense of humor always gleaned through his scripts.
Humor reigned supreme when Blake Edwards directed the fabulously funny Pink Panther comedy murder mysteries. With the bumbling detective, Jacques Clouseau creating havoc in the Parisian police department, bodies could appear here, there and everywhere and Edwards’ audiences would be laughing out loud at corpses, stabbings, poisonings and shootings.
In other hands, the Pink Panther series might have fallen flat but with Edwards behind the camera, the movies were murderously funny.
